The impact
of the project in quantitative terms, from the technical, economic and
social perspectives, is expected to produce:
- Strict compliance with the maximum levels of pollution
required by the EU, whose quantitative targets are included in the new EU
Directive;
- Meeting the mobility needs of citizens, although in a
different way than at present;
- Reducing management costs for traffic and existing
pollution controls by 30%, as part of current fixed stations will become
unnecessary and the traffic control system simplified;
- A better operational efficiency of vehicles in
circulation, thereby saving fuel and maintenance, which will be higher than at
least 10%, with similar effects on climate change;
- Recognized benefits associated with improved health,
deriving from declining levels of pollution (in 2020 compared to 2000 such
effects are estimated at 49% loss of life years for the effects of particulates
and 10% in mortality due to ozone, should nothing happens);
- Recognized benefits associated with conservation of
the city architectural heritage, thereby savings in cleaning and maintenance,
which will be higher than at least 10%.
